About The Morley Shed

The Shed’s journey began nine years ago, initially for retired men who found themselves struggling with feelings of isolation and a decline in social activity. This group, often facing significant mental health challenges. Later women expressed interest.
When The Shed emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic, it was not merely a reopening but a rebirth.
Initially part of the Groundwork, The Shed has since evolved into an independent group. This transition brought with it the responsibility of self-sufficiency, as the group now shoulders the task of raising substantial funds to keep going.
Guided by a straightforward set of rules. The Shed has a diverse membership including those with disabilities, wheelchair users and individuals living with a variety mental health issues. At its core, The Shed’s mission is to cultivate a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment. It is a place where the love of woodworking is the cornerstone, where members can indulge in their craft, learn from one another to enhance their personal skills.
